Monday’s Not Coming by Tiffany D. Jackson

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Claudia’s best friend is missing but no one seems to care. Through the POV of Claudia, an 8th grader, the story alternates between the before and after the disappearance of Monday.

This novel is incredibly important. There are so many factors in how to save someone. There are so many factors in why there’s abuse and neglect. And then there’s the bullying. How can it be stopped? How can parents and school employees support students so that bullying isn’t so prevalent.

This novel is one that I would recommend to my students and hope they learn from it.

The one thing that detracts from the novel for he is the surprise ending.
