Summer Wives by Beatriz Williams

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐3.5

Rich people are so annoying. Miranda arrives on the beautiful New England island setting as a teenager. Her newly widowed mother is to marry Hugh Fisher. Miranda has a new stepsister, Isobel. I loved the dichotomy between the rich families and the Portuguese fishing families. In this sense, the novel reminded me of the 1980s movie Mystic Pizza.
Without giving away the twists and turns of the plot, the story goes back in time and reveals the secrets of the intertwined rich and poor families. Some of the situational twists are predictable and some of the dialogue is odd or maybe too stiff. But the worst thing about this book the title.
