The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The best novel I’ve read in ages. I laughed out loud at the humor and was completely compelled by the mystery.

Daniel is 11 when his father brings him to the Cemetery of Forgotten books. Daniel picks out a book by Julian Carax entitled The Shadow of the Wind. This book and the mystery of its author lead Daniel on a journey to discover who Julian Carax is and who is destroying all known copies of the author’s novels.

The descriptions are beautiful with interesting word and language choices but not too flowery. Daniel’s journey is one that involves mystery, doomed love, and murder. Through all this, Daniel grows up and discovers love and survives loss.
