Patron Saints of Nothing by Randy Ribay ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Jay might be a typical suburban teen but his cousin Jun living in Manila, Phillipines experiences a very different life. When Jun us killed, Jay becomes determined to find out what happened to the cousin he had lost touch with.

The intensity of the recent events in the Phillipines is the backdrop to this novel. Jay doesn’t know or understand the politics of Duterte and finds himself taking a crash course while looking for the truth about his cousin.

This novel taught me about the culture and economics of the Phillipines while telling an engaging story.
